In 2025, WSA/TCMB is excited to once again host a Catchers Clinic.
WSA/TCMB is excited to announce Raegan Cressman as our 2025 instructor. Raegan is currently catching for the University of Waterloo Warriors, and has competed at the Provincial and National Level throughout her minor softball experience and has medaled in provincial competition.
We will be accepting up to 8 catchers per time slot with a spot being reserved once payment is received. We plan to offer three levels, with Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced instruction. The number of sign-ups will determine the exact groupings and we may add or delete times slots if needed. There will be a total of 6 dates and each session will run for approximately 55 min including warm up. Catching equipment will be needed, if you require a set please let us know.
The program will cover the following: Catching stance and positioning, Footwork, Receiving and framing pitches, Blocking pitches, Catching pop ups around home plate, Throwing out base runners / Pop Time, Receiving and tagging - positioning on plays at the plate and proper tag, Covering first base and when to do it / when not to do it, Pitch calling / sequencing - changing a batter’s eyes, balance and timing, Controlling pace of the game, and Directing your defense.
